ਜਮਨਾ ਦਰਿਆ ਦੇ ਕੰਢੇ ਤੇ ਇਹ ਉਹ ਪਵਿੱਤਰ ਅਸਥਾਨ ਹੈ , ਜਿਥੇ ਕਲਗੀਧਰ ਪਾਤਸ਼ਾਹ ਗੁਰੂ ਗੋਬਿੰਦ ਸਿੰਘ ਜੀ ਨੇ ਨਾਹਰ ਰਿਆਸਤ ਵਿਚ ਆਉਣ ਪਿੱਛੋਂ ਤੁਰੰਤ ਸਾਰੇ ਖੇਤਰ ਨੂੰ ਦੇਖ ਕੇ ਨਵਾਂ ਨਗਰ ਵਸਾਣ ਦਾ ਵਿਚਾਰ ਬਣਾਇਆ ਤੇ ਇਥੇ ਹੀ ਆਪਣੇ ਠਹਿਰਨ ਲਈ ਪਹਿਲਾ ਕੈਂਪ ਲਾਇਆ। ਫਿਰ ਇਸ ਰਮਣੀਕ ਤੇ ਅਤਿ ਸੁੰਦਰ ਕੁਦਰਤੀ ਅਸਥਾਨ ਤੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਲਈ ਕਿਲ੍ਹੇ ਵਰਗੀ ਇਕ ਇਮਾਰਤ ਉਸਾਰੀ। ਇਥੋਂ ਹੀ ਪਾਉਂਟਾ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਦੀ ਨੀਂਹ ਰੱਖੀ ਤੇ ਇਸ ਦਾ ਨਾਮਕਰਨ ਕੀਤਾ। ਗੁਰੂ ਮਹਾਰਾਜ ਦੇ ਨਿਵਾਸ ਅਸਥਾਨ ਦੇ ਅਗਲੇ ਪਾਸੇ ਦੀਵਾਨ ਅਸਥਾਨ ਬਣਾਇਆ ਜੀਤਹਿ ਰੋਜ਼ਾਨਾ ਸਵੇਰੇ ਆਸ ਦੀ ਵਾਰ ਦਾ ਕੀਰਤਨ , ਕਥਾ ਤੇ ਗੁਰਮਤ ਦੀ ਵਿਚਾਰ ਹੁੰਦੀ। ਗੁਰੂ ਮਹਾਰਾਜ ਆਪ ਸਾਢੇ ਚਾਰ ਸਾਲ ਸੰਗਤਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਅਧਿਆਤਮਕ ਗਿਆਨ ਬਖਸ਼ਦੇ ਰਹੇ। ਇਸੇ ਅਸਥਾਨ ਤੇ ਗੁਰਦੁਆਰੇ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਗੁ: ਹਰਿਮੰਦਰ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਪ੍ਰਚਲਤ ਕਰ ਲਿਆ। ਇਥੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਗੋਬਿੰਦ ਸਿੰਘ ਜੀ ਦੇ ਇਤਿਹਾਸਿਕ ਸ਼ਸਤਰ ਹੋਰ ਨਿਸ਼ਾਨੀਆਂ ਵੀ ਸੰਭਾਲੀਆਂ ਹੋਈਆਂ ਸਨ ਜੋ ਪਿੱਛੋਂ ਅਲੋਪ ਕਰ ਲਈਆਂ ਗਈਆਂ ਪਰ ਕੁਝ ਨਿਸ਼ਾਨੀਆਂ ਅਤੇ ਤੱਕ ਵੀ ਮੌਜੂਦ ਹਨ। ਸਾਹਿਬ ਬਾਬਾ ਅਜੀਤ ਸਿੰਘ ਜੀ ਦਾ ਜਨਮ ਅਸਥਾਨ ਹੈ

SINGH JI came to NAHAN on invitation of NAHAN ruller MEDNI PARKASH, and after staying at NAHAN, GURU SAHIB came to this place and stayed here for 4.5 years. During this period he engaged himself not only in hunting and training his warrior Sikhs in the martial arts, but also in literary activities, many composing works of religious as well as heroic poetry and patronizing several talented poets and writers whom he employed mostly for translating ancient classics into contemporary Braj or Punjabi. Towards the end of his stay, GURU SAHIB fought and won the first battle of his life against the combined of hill chiefs hostile to him, in his words, “for no cause”. At the Place Of GURUDWARA SHRI KAVI DARBAR SAHIB, situated on the back side of GURUDWARA SHRI PAONTA SAHIB building, GURU SAHIB used to organize Kavi Darabrs. There was very much noice of Yamuna River because of which poets get disturbed, and they complained about this to GURU SAHIB. After that with blessing of GURU SAHIB Yamuna used to flow silently near to GURUDWARA SAHIB.
